In 2007, Rod (my business partner) and I decided to team up and sell opal and opal jewelry. He buys the rough from the mines, cuts the opal and I produce the jewelry, take the photographs and sell it. In 2014 the Opal Podcast was born. A lot of people have asked us why we started a podcast. Part of it is our love for radio when we were growing up. Radio kept us entertained after school and during long drives in the car. When we finally entered the “real world,” complete with 2+ hours of daily commuting time, it was podcasts that educated and inspired us. Competition in the opal business is fierce, the market is quite saturated but we feel we have a leg up on all of our competition because of our partnership together. We feel the podcast is the best way to bring our listeners up to date information regarding our business, our product and what is happening in the industry as a whole. Its for beginners right up to experts to listen to, enjoy and hopefully take something away from each episode. Listen to our podcast, give us your feedback and we will try to keep it as regular as possible in between our busy work schedules as possible.
